Compress a PDF without uploading it
Shrink PDFs in your browser. The file never leaves your device, so contracts, payslips and scans stay private.
Most online PDF compressors upload your document to their servers, process it there and send it back. That is fine for a flyer, less so for a contract, a bank statement or a scanned passport.
Capy Files compresses the PDF inside your browser. You can pick a preset or type a target size such as 2 MB for an upload form, and it never makes the file bigger than it was.
How it works
- 1
Open Compress PDF and drop in your file.
- 2
Pick a preset or a target size.
- 3
Download the smaller PDF. Nothing was uploaded.
Questions
Is it really not uploaded?
Open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab and run the tool. No request carries your file. You can also turn off Wi-Fi after the page has loaded and it keeps working.
Will the quality drop?
Text and vector graphics stay sharp. Images inside the PDF are recompressed, and you choose how hard.
Does it work offline?
Yes, once the page has loaded. Install it as an app and it works with no connection at all.
