Nothing uploaded
Convert PDF to Word without uploading
Turn a PDF into an editable Word document in your browser. Contracts and CVs never leave your device.
The PDFs people want to edit are often the private ones: a CV, a contract draft, a letter from a lawyer. Online converters upload them to do the job.
Capy Files rebuilds the PDF as a Word document in your browser. Paragraphs, headings, lists, bold and italic come across, ready to edit in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. The converter is in beta: tables and multi-column layouts don’t come across yet, and scanned pages go in as pictures.
How it works
- 1
Open PDF to Word and add your PDF.
- 2
It rebuilds the text on your device.
- 3
Download the .docx and edit it.
Questions
Is it really not uploaded?
Open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab and run the tool. No request carries your file. You can also turn off Wi-Fi after the page has loaded and it keeps working.
Will it look exactly like the PDF?
You get clean, editable text with headings and lists. Exact layout, tables and columns aren’t copied yet.
What about scanned PDFs?
Scanned pages have no text, so they go in as pictures. Run the PDF through OCR first to make the text editable.
